AI use-case explorer
Every AI use case is a chain of named tasks. Pick one, and see the chain, the kind of AI it becomes, and how much it decides on its own. No AI runs here; it is all worked out from the tasks. Over 250 use cases across 37 domains.
No use cases match that filter.

How to read this
The idea comes from the book Thinking in AI. An AI use case looks like one magic step, but underneath it is a chain of a few named tasks, each doing one job. Name the task and you know three things: what goes in, how you measure whether it is any good, and how it tends to fail.
The chain also tells you the kind of AI without anyone deciding it up front. A single classic task is a focused model. Add a generative step and it becomes generative AI. Put a lookup step first and it becomes grounded, or RAG. Chain several tasks with a generative step and it tends to be built as an agent. Agents and RAG are plumbing over tasks, not new kinds of magic.
This explorer runs no AI. Everything shown is worked out from the tasks in the chain. For the fuller catalogue, see AI use cases by industry and AI use cases in finance.
